Smart Scheduler™

Barkway’s Smart Scheduler helps you pick the best time without the back-and-forth. If a slot clashes, it suggests the next workable option based on your opening hours, buffer time, and preferences.

What does it consider?​

  • Opening hours - it won’t start a booking outside your set hours.
  • Buffer time - protects gaps between grooms.
  • Preferred window - optional hours you prefer to fill first.
  • Sensible spacing - tries to reduce awkward gaps and late finishes.

Barkway can allow a booking to finish a little after closing (a small “soft close” buffer). It won’t let a booking run too far past your set hours.

When does it step in?​

  • Creating a booking - if the slot isn’t available, Barkway suggests the next best one.
  • Editing a booking - if the new time clashes, it offers an alternative.

Settings to check​

  • Scheduler type - choose Smart Scheduler or Normal (first-fit).
  • Opening hours - used for every suggestion.
  • Appointment buffer - minutes between bookings.
  • Preferred booking window - optional time range for “best” slots.

FAQ​

Will it ever book outside my hours?
No. It only suggests slots that start within your opening hours.

Can a booking run slightly past closing?
Yes, within the soft-close buffer (a few extra minutes by design).

Do I have to use the suggested slot?
Not at all. It’s a recommendation, not a lock.
