Passwordless login (magic links)
The portal uses email magic links instead of passwords.
How it works
- Client enters their email on portal login.
- Barkway emails a sign-in link.
- Client opens the link to start a portal session.
Security behavior to know
- Login responses are generic to avoid exposing whether an email exists.
- Magic links expire after a configured time.
- Used/expired/invalid links cannot be reused.
Common login issues
- Link expired: request a new link.
- Link already used: request a new link.
- Access disabled: staff must re-enable portal access for that client.
Session notes
If staff revoke sessions or disable portal access, the client will need a fresh login link.
