Updating a pet

Pets change over time - new quirks, health updates, or just a better glam shot. The Edit Pet page keeps their profile accurate and up to date.

Step-by-step​

  1. Open the pet
    From Pets (or via a client profile), click the pet’s name, then hit Edit.

  2. Update the basics

    • Name, breeds, sex, weight, and date of birth.
    • Change the linked client if ownership has changed.
    • Replace or remove their profile photo.

  3. Adjust health & medical info

    • Temperament, allergies, and medical conditions.

  4. Refresh grooming & vet info

    • Update Last Groomed if you need to.
    • Update Microchip Number and vet details.

  5. Recall reminders

    • Use Exclude this pet from recall reminders to opt out.
    • When checked, the pet won’t appear in overdue lists or receive recall reminders.

  6. Update pet notes Keep quirks and reminders fresh.

Header actions​

  • New Booking - create an appointment for this pet directly from their profile.
  • Delete Pet - soft deletes the pet so it’s removed from lists but retained for reporting. Booking history stays in your records. Data will be cleaned up in line with future GDPR retention processes.

Pro tips​

  • Last Groomed updates automatically when a booking is completed, but you can edit it manually if needed.
  • Use Booking Notes for one-off session info; keep recurring quirks in Pet Notes so they carry forward.
